Curtis F. Davis, age 90, of Elwood, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at his residence .
He was born on May 23, 1927 in Alexandria to the late Curtis Gus Davis and Lillian Pauline (Summers) Davis .
On February 28, 1953 he married the love of his life Margaret (Swift) Davis and they shared more than 64 years of married life.
Curtis served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors Corporation where he worked for more than 30 years as Fork Truck Driver. He was a member of Frankton Christian Church. He loved to garden and enjoyed working in his green house and was happy to give his garden produce to friends and neighbors.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife, of 64 years, Margaret (Swift) Davis of Elwood, son, Chris Davis, Jr. of Frankton, 2 daughters, Charlene (Tommy Joe) Heath of Frankton and Christina (Paul) Large, 9 grandchildren, Maggie, Regina, Wendel, Stephanie, Heather, Joshua, Crystal, Jessica, and Jacob, 16 great grandchildren, sister, Berna Lou Bennett, 2 sisters-in-law, Merl Harris and Marcella Dockerey, and several nieces & nephews
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Freddy, 2 sisters, Jennie Abbott and Mary Cloud, several brothers-in-law and several sisters-in-law.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday, June 12, 2017 at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, , with James Bowyer and Roger Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P. - I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 11, 2017, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton.
