Diana B. (Abbott) McDaniel

Diana B. McDaniel, age 63, of Elwood, went to join her son Tom and other family members in heaven on Tom's birthday, October 6, 2017 following a brief illness and a broken heart. 
Diana was born on May 22, 1954 in Elwood to the late Harvey and Beatrice (Hickman) Abbott. She was a graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. On August 24, 1974 she married the love of her life Harvey W. McDaniel and they shared 43 years of marriage together. She furthered her education at the Purdue extension in Anderson with a course in American Sign Language. Diana held various jobs over the years and most recently was a physicians assistant. She was currently attending Tetersburg Christian Church and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Tipton. Diana had a passion for guitars, enjoyed fishing and taking trips to Tennessee. More than anything Diana loved spending time with her grandchildren. 
Diana is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Harvey McDaniel, a daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Grubb, Two grandsons, Kevin Grubb Jr. and Jack Turner McDaniel, three granddaughters, Kimberly Grubb, Kenzie Martin and Kaycie Grubb, three great-grandsons, Maxin VanCamp, Micah Bean and Noah Bean, a great granddaughter, Aspen Witmer, a sister, Brenda (Jerry) Williams, a brother, Rick Abbott, several nieces and nephews and close friends Chris Gibson and Zane Gardner. Diana was preceded in death by her son, Thomas J. McDaniel, father, Harvey Abbott Jr., mother, Beatrice Ella Abbott and sister, Rae Ann Etchison. 
A graveside service to honor Diana's life will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Forrestville Cemetery, with her husband Harvey McDaniel officiating. 
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
