Bobbie Annie (Phillips) Humphryes

June 6, 1943 ~ February 13, 2018 (age 74)

Bobbie  Annie Humphryes, age 74, of Elwood, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at her residence in Elwood surrounded by her loving family. 
She was born in Hale County Alabama on June 6, 1943, to the late William Edward and Annie Gillian (McCray) Phillips Sr. On April 12, 1960 she married  Billy Jack Humphryes in Selma, Alabama and they shared over 57 years of marriage together.   She was formerly a home health aide but her most treasured calling in her life was being a wife, momma, and mamaw to her family.  Bobbie was currently a member of the Cornerstone Assembly of God and a former long time member of the 3rd Street Church of God.  She loved to read, watching old movies, sewing, and was an avid viewer of "Day's of our Lives".   Bobbie enjoyed watching baseball, all types of music, and formerly enjoyed riding horses.   More than anything Bobbie loved her family and having family dinners and cookouts.   Her family was her life and she will be greatly missed by her many loved ones. 

Bobbie  is survived by her husband, Billy Jack Humphryes of Elwood; daughter, Mary DeLay (husband Stephen) Plake of Elwood; son, Billy Wayne (wife Patty) Humphryes of Curtisville; son, Richard Allen (wife Morisa) Humphryes of Elwood; daughter, Lisa Darnell (husband Scott) Juday of Elwood; daughter, Michelle Joyce (husband Wayne) Browning of Springfield, TN; sisters, Mary Joyce Roberts of Swayzee, Linda Diane (husband Gary Lee) Anderson of Elwood; brother, William Edward (wife Shirley Ann) Phillips, Jr. of Greenfield; grandchildren, Christopher Plake, Jessica Burkett, Amanda Plake, Jeremy Ramsey, Dennis Humphryes, Devin Humphryes, Jarrid Humphryes, Kayla Juday, Alex Juday, Zachary Juday, Andrew Browning, and Jacob Browning; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 
Bobbie  was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Gillian Phillips; father, William Edward Phillips, Sr.; son, William Perry Humphryes; brother, Tommy Lee McCray; nephews, Eugene McCray, Will Phillips, III; eight infant sisters; father-in-law, Perry B. Humphryes; and mother-in-law, Edna Naomi (Sanders) Humphryes.

A service to honor and celebrate Bobbie's life will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Dunnichay Funeral Home with her nephew Pastor Michael Anderson and Pastor David Hollis officiating.  Burial will follow at Curtisville Cemetery in Curtisville.   Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at Dunnichay Funeral Home 1113 South Anderson Street Elwood, IN 46036
