- About Us
James Michael "Jim" Davis, age 67, of Elwood, was reunited with his wife Angie and other loved ones on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following recent health issues.
He was born on February 17, 1951, in New Castle to the late Rether and Emma Mae (Bradford) Davis. Jim was a graduate of Tipton High School. On June 1, 1974 he married the love of his life Angela Kay "Angie" (Leisure) Davis and they shared 39 years of marriage together before her passing on April 23, 2014. Jim was a hard worker and took pride in providing for his family. He worked for various businesses in the Elwood area before retiring in 2009 from Steel Slitting Corporation, where he was a mechanic. Jim formerly enjoyed fishing with his wife Angie, hunting, camping, and cutting wood with his brother Jack. He will be remembered for always teasing everyone and always having a good joke or story to tell. On March 15, 2011, Jim received a kidney transplant that extended his life by almost 7 years. His family is very grateful for those 7 years. The kidney enabled Jim to be able to see Cody get married and also know the joy of being a grandpa. He had a love for all his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews because they were all like his own kids and grandkids to him. Jim was very proud of his family and especially his son Cody. Being a grandpa to Emberlin brought him much joy, which you could see in his face when he was with her or talked about her. Jim was a friend to all who knew him and would help anyone in any way he could. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered in all our hearts.
