John A. Cooper, age 62, of Elwood, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, September 23, 2019 following an extended illness.
He was born on June 2, 1957, to the late John and Sally (Bennett) Cooper.
On June 27, 1981 he married Sandra (Anderson) Cooper and they shared 38 years of marriage together.
John retired in 1995, from Boeing International where he worked in Maintenence. He was a member of Army Reserves 1974- 1980 and was station for a while in Germany. He enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, wood working and metal working, working in his yard and fishing. He was an excellent cook - especially when it came to cooking on the grill or deep frying turkeys.
John is survived by his loving wife, of 38 years, Wife, Sandra Cooper of Elwood, Sister, 3 sons, Bryan (Erica) Cooper, John A. "J.C." (Kristal) Cooper, III, and Greg (Becky) Brooks, daughter, Tarina Michele (boyfriend Derek), sister, Ruth Cooper, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews
John was preceded in death by his father, John A Cooper, Sr., mother, Sally J. Cooper, and sister, Vickie Guinzy.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Ashley City Cemetery in Ashley, IL.
John's arrangements have been entrusted to Dunnichay Funeral Home.
