Larry Kenneth Dietzer, Sr. age 85, of Anderson, IN. passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born in Elwood, IN. on January 3, 1934 to the late Mose Wilkins and Hattie Dietzer.
Larry was a 1953 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. On April 30, 1961 he married Margaret "Peggy" (Smith) Dietzer, and they would have celebrated 58 years of marriage together this month.
Larry worked as a tool & die maker at Delco Remy and retired after 41 years of service. He was also a member of U.A.W. #662. After Larry retired he was the owner of Lamar Consulting. Larry was a longtime member of Middletown Masonic Lodge #271 where he served as the Past Master. Larry was a jack of all trades and was good at everything he tried. He especially loved fishing, woodworking and enjoyed traveling with his family.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Margaret "Peggy" Dietzer of Anderson, daughter, Vickie (Ken) Kielman of Fishers, son, Larry (Lois) Dietzer, Jr., daughter, Dr. Stacey (Kevin) Castor, son & special caregiver Don Julian of Anderson, grandson & special caregiver Ryan (Emily) Castor of Noblesville, and nephew & special caregiver Scott Robert Woodsides of Tipton. He is also survived by grandchildren Evan (Tracy)Castor, Carter (Krystie) Castor, Bridget (Chris) South, Tyler (Lacee) Kielman, Ben Gillospy, and several great-grandchildren and a sister Sandra Headly of Anderson. Larry is also survived by his furry companion Maxi.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, father & mother-in-law Howard & Lucille Smith, brother-in-law Glendon Smith, brother-in-law Edwin Smith, brother-in-law Robert Woodsides and sister-in-law Mary Davis.
Funeral service celebrating Larry's life will begin at 12:00 pm Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Dunnichay Funeral Home with Chaplain Toby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Aroma Cemetery.
Visitation for family & friends will be on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 10:00-12:00 at Dunnichay Funeral Home 1113 S. Anderson Street. A Masonic service will be conducted at 12:00p.m., prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Aroma Methodist Church or the Middletown Masonic Lodge.
