Lavina M. Stout, age 87, formerly of Elwood, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Miller's Merry Manor in Peru following an extended illness.
She was born on December 11, 1931, to the late Emerson and Bessie (Wheeler) Miller.
On July 26, 1952 she married the love of her life Archie J. Stout and they shared more than 63 years of married life before he passed away in 2016.
Lavina was a homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her home and her family. She enjoyed embroidery crocheting, loom knitting and coloring. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning and baking. She especially enjoyed working outside and tending her yellow roses. Following her move into Miller's Merry Manor in Peru, she looked forward to playing Bingo and helping to fold towels. Lavina's family would like to thank the staff of Miller's Merry Manor in Peru for the care they provided to Lavina over the past two years. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Holly Palmer who spent countless hours with her grandma while she was in Miller's Merry Manor. Having Holly be present often not only helped Lavina, but it gave the family peace of mind knowing that Lavina had an advocate who would ensure all her needs were met.
