Linda Carol Diehl, age 80, of Elwood, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a recent illness.
She was born on July 13, 1939, to the late James E. and Dorothy May (Roberts) Linville.
On April 28, 1962 she married the love of her life William E. "Bill" Diehl, and they've shared more than 57 years together.
Through out Linda's working career, she held various positions mainly in the Retail field. She was a member of Indiana Master Beta Xi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for more than 39 years and served as a past state officer for Beta Sigma Phi. She was chairwoman of the Little Miss and Mr. Glass pageants for many years and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, the Indiana Paces and Indiana University sports teams. More than anything, Linda adored her family and her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Bill Diehl of Elwood, 3 children, Tobey (Mike) Beaman of Elwood, Todd Diehl of Muncie, and Mindy (Doug) Cline of Canfield, OH, grandchildren, Rosie & Kevin Beaman, Josh Cline, and Haley Hickle, brother, Tom (Gail) Linville, nieces Shawn Smith, Dee Copeland, and T.J. Linville, nephews, Scott Linville and Mitchell Linville, and dear friend Barbara Riley.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Linville and a brother, Jimmy Linville. .
Funeral service will be at 2:00pm on, Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood, with Rich Leavell officiating and will include a memorial service with members of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson,, .
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00pm prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street in Elwood, IN 46036.
