Malcolm  Don "Mike" Gardner, age 90, of Orestes and formerly of Frankton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton.  Mike was born on September 27,1928, in Zionsville, IN to Benjamin and Hazel (Bailey) Gardner.
On Jan. 29, 1971, he married Arlene K. (Mosbaugh) Gardner and she passed away on Nov. 22, 2003.  Mike served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.  He retired from McCord Brothers Trucking Company after 42 years of service.  He was a member of Orestes Christian Church, the Elwood VFW and was active with the Frankton Heritage Days.
Mike is survived by his companion, Jean Martin of Orestes, two sons, Allen (Vonda) Gardner of Lake Wales, FL, and Gordon (Teresa) Gardner of Haskell, AK, step-son, Rex (Annie Hollowell) Harvey of Frankton, step-daughter, Pam (Brad) Schlueter of Rotonda West, FL, step-daughter, Kim (Mike) Pratt of Tipton, IN, and step-son, Steve (Traci) Harvey of Elwood, several grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin & Hazel Gardner, wife, Arlene Gardner, and a brother, Moncil "Bud" Gardner.
Funeral service celebrating Mike's life will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton with Revs. Courtley Granger and Don Smothers officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P. and I.O.O.F. Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the US Army and the Elwood VFW American Honor Guard Unit.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25, 2019, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Orestes Christian Church.
