Sherra Lynn (Ramey) Murray

September 4, 1945 ~ January 28, 2018 (age 72)

Sherra Lynn Murray, age 72, of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her daughter's residence in Tipton following a brief illness.
She was born on September 4, 1945 in Elwood, to the late John C.  and Gertrude H. (Bradley) Ramey.  She married Phillip E. Murray on April 30, 1982 and they shared more than 35 years together.
Sherra was a as homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She also worked as a Nurse's Aide at Dickey's Nursing Home in Elwood  and at the New Port Richy Hospital in Florida in for several years.    Sherra  loved playing Bingo.  She was an avid fan of NASCAR, and especially liked Dale Jarrett, but if there was a pool, she loved whatever driver she had drawn to win.  She enjoyed playing lottery scratch-off tickets, and would often win because she was a lucky person.  She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Tampa Bay Rays baseball teams.  She was the family's walking calendar; remembering everyone's birthdays and anniversaries.  Sherra will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Sherra is survived by 5 children,  Doug (Irene) Lane of FL,  Danny (Annette) Lane of FL,  Stoney (Linda) Lane of AR,  Ronda (Doug) Cooper of Crestview, FL, Melonie (Randy) James of Tipton, IN, 34 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Richard (Faye) Ramey, Gary (Karen) Ramey,and Larry Ramey, sister, Beverly (Ralph) Holder, sister-in-law, Barb Ramey, and several nieces and nephews.
Sherra was preceded in death by her father, John C. Ramey, mother, Gertrude Helen (Bradley) Ramey, her husband, Phillip E. Murray who died July 28, 2017, son, Jason E. Lane, 2 brothers, James W Ramey, and John D. Ramey, 2 sisters, Delores Beeman and Mara Kay Ramey.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Pastor James Snapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Perkinsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2018, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.
