Victoria E. "Vickie" (Knapp) Armstrong

April 25, 1958 ~ June 19, 2018 (age 60)

Victoria “Vickie” Ellen Armstrong of Elwood passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. She was 60 years old.

She was born on April 25, 1958 in Crosbyton, Texas to Daniel and Patricia (Buckles) Knapp. Vickie was preceded in death by her father, as well as her sister, Joni Carol Green.

Vickie was a talented writer who was a contributor to many Catholic publications. She was also a video blogger for the Vericast Network and formerly worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at an assisted living facility in Tennessee.

She enjoyed listening to 70s music and loved to play cards and board games. She also enjoyed participating in sports with her family, crafts, days spent at the swimming pool and watching movies.

Vickie’s passion in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to six children, grandmother to 29 and a great-grandmother of one. She is survived by her children Jessica (Mick) Jones, Linda (Mike) Dunlap, Liz (Jeremy) Cromwell, Dan (Jess) Armstrong, Cindy (Ryan) Armstrong and D.J. (Melissa) Armstrong.

Also surviving are grandchildren Caleb, Jenna, Chelsea, Luke, Blaise, Savannah, Abby, Brayden, Katelyn, Leah, Josie, Courtney, C.J. (who will be arriving soon), Sierra, Trep, Aydan, Dayus, Lana, Lilly, Jude, Jonah, Jensen, Noah, Gabby, Layla, Lucy, Jalyn, Weston and Ella, as well as great-grandchild Ava.

Vickie leaves behind her mother, Pat, sister Karen (Bill) Smith, brothers Mike (Darcy) Knapp and Tim (Jennifer) Knapp, and brother-in-law Doug Green along with many nieces and nephews.

Vickie will be sadly missed but remembered with love by her family and friends for her quick wit, outgoing personality and devotion to her family and her Catholic faith.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood, where Vickie was a parishioner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 24 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson St., Elwood, and will conclude with a Rosary Service.
