Virgil R. Wright, age 86, of Frankton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29,2019 at Northview Health and Living, in Anderson.
He was born on March 13, 1933, in Frankton to the late Clayton and Bernice (Harless) Wright.
On January 2, 1976 he married Constance "Connie" (Campbell) Wright. Virgil graduated from Frankton High School in 1951. He served his county in the United States Army. Virgil retired in 1993, from Delco Remy Plant 17, after 42 years. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church, UAW #662, Farm Bureau and a former member of the Frankton Jay-Cees. Virgil enjoyed his garden and was an photographer. He loved spending time with his family and friends. If you ever met Virgil you were a friend for life.
Virgil is survived by his loving wife, of 43 years, Connie Wright of Frankton, daughter, Connie Jo McLaughlin of Anderson, daughter, Patsy (Jim) Jeffries of Anderson, daughter, Teresa (Mark) Albers of Linden, IN, son, Mike Wright of Decatur, IN, daughter, Tonya (Gerry) Carman of Anderson, son, Gregg Manis of Anderson, son, Ted (Julie) Rich of Pine City, NY, grandchildren, Doug (Kim) Carman, Mark Carman, Amanda Manis, Alicia Manis, Hannah, Timothy, Jonathan & David Rich, Rachel (Gavin) Asbury, Trevor McLaughlin, Stacey Hancher, Jade (Larry Page) Jeffries, Zane & Zach Albers, Michael Wright, Kyle Wright and Derek (Amber) Faust, several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, sister, Loretta Sue (Don) Lennon of Frankton, several nieces & nephews. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton & Berncie Wright and step mother, Anna Margaret Wright.
Virgil's family would like to thank the staff of Northview Health and Living and especially the Baldwin's, Oleksy's, and Hendricks families.
Funeral service celebrating Virgil's life will be at 11:00 am Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church, in Anderson with his son Rev. Ted Rich & Rev. Doug Stein officiating. Burial will follow in the K of P and I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton with full military honors conducted by the US Army and the Elwood VFW American Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 5, 2019, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, in Frankton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association or the Indiana Christian Academy.
