Willard  Eathen "Bill"  Flanagan, age 88, of Frankton, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie following an extended illness.  He was born on March 23, 1929,  in Cleveland, Ohio to the late  Eathen and Flora Myrtle (Muchmore) Flanagan.
On June 25, 1950,  he married the love of his life Leona Mae(Hughes) Flanagan.  In 1952 Bill joined the United States Marine Corps and served our Country during the Korean War.   
Bill was retired from General Motors after 37 1/2  years of service..  He also worked at Harper Funeral Home in Frankton for several years.  He was a founding member of the Madison Christian Church, a member of the Frankton American Legion, a member of the U.A.W. Local 662 and a founding member of the Frankton Ambulance Service.  He loved reading and woodworking, enjoyed fishing, camping and sitting around a campfire. Bill was also a coach and umpire for Little League baseball for many years. More than anything, Bill loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his son, Rick (Toni) Flanagan, 2 daughters, Kathie  (Ron) Smith and Lisa  (Jim) Couch, 8 grandchildren,  Kreg (Jenni) Flanagan, Kirk (Jamie) Flanagan, Kabe  (Keah) Flanagan, Bracken Smith,  Branden (Kelly Janeway) Smith, Bronsen  (Brittany) Smith,  Clint Couch,  Britney (Jason) Correll,  2 step grandchildren, Eric (Annalisa) Lackey,  Karen (Joe) Wince, 9 great grandchildren, Hannah, Ella, Aiden, Olivia, Owen, Kemper, Jaiden, Allison, Meira, and step great grandchild Alaina, and beloved dog, Sonny. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 62 years, Leona Mae Flanagan who died in 2012.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton with Pastor Donna Herring officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P. - I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton and will include military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps. and the Elwood V.F.W.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton.
Bill's family wishes to thank all of his neighbors, the Frankton Ambulance Service, the Frankton Police Department, special care giver, Becky Couch, Casey and the staff of Indiana Home Care, for all the care and support given to Bill through the years.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Christian Church or the Frankton Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
