Our mother, Connie B. Wilburn, died on January 21, 2023 after a long, full life. She was born July 17, 1932 and was 90 years old.
Connie was a 1950 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. She married Charles A. Wilburn on February 25, 1951 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2014. She and her husband, Charles, owned and operated Mighty Distributing Auto Parts for many years. She had a love for her God, Jehovah and the Bible. That love she willingly shared with others. She was a longtime member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Elwood, Kokomo, and most recently in Anderson. Connie was kind, smart, witty, and a wonderful cook who enjoyed painting and writing poems. She loved to go shopping and her family often referred to her as a professional shopper. Connie will always find the best deals while shopping, and she passed on those skills to her daughters.
She was blessed with four children, Susan (Duane) Law of Anderson, Charles A. (Gwen) Wilburn, Jr. of Tipton, Linda (Les) Brooker of Kokomo, and Rhonda (Mark ) Diveley of Westfield; 11 grandchildren, Duane (Ashleigh ) Law, Lacy Law, Clint Wilburn, Tom (Andrea) Wilburn, Shannon Cross, Alycia (Dustin) Jones, Laura Brooker, Devin (Bianca ) Brooker, Kendall Diveley, Bailey (finace Taylor Reeves ) Diveley, and Nigel (Michelle ) Diveley; 14 great- grandchildren; two half-sisters, Rebecca (Paul) Evans and Judy Noble; and several nieces, and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Ellis, Elizabeth and Raymond Glotzbach; beloved husband, Charles A. Wilburn; granddaughter, Erica Law; infant sister, Nancy Ellis; and best friend, Mary Marvin.
