Dennis Lee Stoner, age 74, of Elwood, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 3, 2022, following a long battle with complications from a serious illness.  Dennis was born in Anderson, IN on September 10, 1947, to the late Gerald L. Stoner and Helen Jean (Noland) Patton Stoner.  He met the love of his life, Gayle Updegraff, and together they had a beautiful daughter, Megan Stoner.  Dennis was a 1965 graduate of Madison Heights High School. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War by joining the United State Marine Corps. 

Dennis retired from Delco Remy after 30 years of service and was a member of the UAW # 662. During the summer months. Dennis enjoyed his favorite summer-time activity, canoeing.  Dennis was huge fan of soccer and ice-hockey. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially his favorite artist, Celine Dion. Dennis was said to be a stubborn person, but he will always be remembered as being a loving person and fiercely loyal to his family.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Megan Stoner of Elwood; companion, Gayle Updegraff of Elwood; stepbrother, William Patton of Anderson; and sister-in-law, Linda Updegraff of Elwood. 

The family wishes to thank his sister-in-law, Linda Updegraff, for her loving care of Dennis during his final weeks. They also wish to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of ViaQuest Hospice of Muncie, IN who took excellent care of Dennis and his family during his illness.

Dennis' wishes were to have private services.
