Leslie Ann Wilhelm, age 80, of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at her residence following a sudden illness. She was born in Elwood on February 19, 1942, to the late Edgar and Helen (Riley) Clark. On May 19, 1979, she married Phillip T. Wilhelm and they shared 43 years of marriage together prior to his death in 2016.
Leslie was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union Local 1160 and retired in 1998 from RCA/Thompson Consumer Electronics after 30 years of service. Leslie had a great sense of humor and was known to be quite facetious. Leslie was easy going and fun-loving. She loved buying toys and gadgets for the kids in the family, but usually always had to test them out herself before gifting them. Kerry loved to give her a hard time about that. Leslie also enjoyed camping and spending time at Hidden Lake Campground and Hillbilly Acres Campground in Linton. She will be greatly missed by her family, but they take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Phillip. Leslie was a beautiful soul and the world was a better place with her in it. She was a true live earth angel.
Leslie is survived by her niece, Kerry Clark; sister-in-law, Marcia Clark; step-daughter Cynthia Lynette (Steve) Crose; grandchildren, Chelsea Elaine Crose and Spencer Elliott Crose; great nieces and nephews, Lyric Wilson, Hollyn Wilson, and River Wilson; brother-in-law, Buck Wittebort; and her beloved cat, Molly. Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Butch Clark and Stephen Clark.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street in Elwood. A funeral service to celebrate Leslie's life will follow at 1 pm with Rev. Courtley Granger officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Elwood.
