Lewis C. Beeman, age 76, of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie following an extended illness. He was born in Elwood on February 24, 1945, to the late Lewis and Frances (Dietz) Beeman. Lewis married his first wife Becky Kay (Dentler) on Nov. 7, 1965, and she passed away after 34 years of marriage. He later married Rebecca (Etherington) Beeman on April 8, 2000, and they shared 21 years of marriage together.
Lewis began his career at Hargrave's Foundry in Elwood before retiring from Tipton County where he worked at the landfill for many years. His hobbies were fishing and visiting casinos, but more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and friends.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Rebecca; two daughters, Kim Frye and Dawn (Harry) Rakestraw, both of Elwood; five sons, Carl (Christina) Beeman of Fortville, Kenny (Missy) Beeman of Elwood, Paul (Deb) Beeman of Fortville, Riley (Lydia) Beeman of Windfall, Jerry (Danetta) Beeman of Elwood; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Georgia Singer of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and first wife, Lewis was preceded in death by four sisters, Deloris Shannon, Beverly Weaver, Margaret Singer and Betty Beeman; seven brothers, Jack, Bill, Richard, Hubert, Rick, Gail and Robert Beeman; and a son-in-law, Rickie Frye.
Visitation is Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Dunnichay Funeral Home Elwood Chapel. Funeral service celebrating Lewis's life will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Dunnichay Funeral Home with his great-nephew Pastor Mike Beeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery.
