Lloyd H. Cook, age 96, of Elwood, IN passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Community Hospital in Anderson, IN. He was born in Goldsmith, IN on November 10, 1925, to the late Leo and Leota (Johnson) Cook.
On July 13, 1947, Lloyd married Dorothy M.(Best) Cook and they shared 65 years of marriage together before her passing on April 29, 2010. Lloyd proudly served his country in the US Navy during WW II. He retired from Delco Remy in 1980 after 30 years of service, and he was a member of the UAW #662 and the American Legion. Lloyd enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He will especially be remembered for his impressive green thumb and enjoyment for gardening.
Lloyd is survived by two sons, Terry (Jan) Cook of Pendleton, IN, and David (Twyla) Cook of Frankton, IN; two daughters, Becky (Don Ledbetter) Alexander of Anderson, IN and Karen (Larry) Carter of Tipton, IN; twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Lloyd was preceded in death by his two brothers, Donald Cook and Robert Cook; and a sister, Mildred Lilly.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday, August 8, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Park, Elwood, IN with Rich Leavell officiating. Military graveside service will be conducted by the US Navy and the Elwood VFW American Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Lloyd.
