Michael Joseph "Joe" Legg, age 81, of Pendleton passed away peacefully on March 11, 2020 at his home.
He was born in Elwood, IN on February 12, 1939 the son of the late Raymond and Marjorie Legg. Following his high school graduation Joe joined the United States Navy. He later graduated from Ball State University with a Master's degree in Adult and Community Education. Joe was retired from Delco Remy in Anderson where he was employed for over 30 years. He was a member of the Redeemer Baptist Church in Anderson and had a great love for his Lord and Savior Jesus. Joe was an avid swimmer at the Bennett Natatorium at Anderson University. The family would like to thank John Cook, Community Health at home and Kindred Hospice.
Joe is survived by two sons, Bill Blackmond, and Bob (Anita) Blackmond; daughter, Becky (Billy) Brandle; grandchildren, Stacey (Jason) Burns, Matt (Stevielee) Blackmond, Seth (Katie) Brandle, Marina and Caia Brandle; three great grandsons; and a special caregiver Shelly Haak. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Bobbi Legg.
A service to honor and celebrate Joe's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 East Sigler Street in Frankton with Rev. Brad Storm officiating. Burial will follow in the K. Of P. & I.O.O.F in Frankton. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 pm to 2 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Redeemer Baptist Church through the funeral home.
