Parker James Armstrong, age 89, of Frankton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Lindberg Crossing in Anderson.
He was born in Menlo, Kansas on June 4, 1931, and was raised by Golden and Lois Armstrong. He served our country in the United States Army. Parker was retired from Guide Lamp in Anderson after many years of service and also worked at Brassfield Veterinary Clinic for many years. He enjoyed woodworking especially making wooden toys, was a fan of western movies, and loved his dog Whiskers. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Parker is survived by his daughter, Debbie (husband Rick) Stansberry; sister, Rosalie "Skippy" Foster, grandchildren, Machelle (husband Bobby) Lindsay, Jeremy (wife Jamie) Gossett, Sherrie Glabreath, April Gilliam, Nikki Stansberry, and Ricky Stansberry; great-grandchildren, Kassie Maddox, Wyatt Ebert, Jessie (wife Mariah) Gossett, Layne Gossett, Justin Galbreath, Jacob Weber, Justina Weber, Rylan Marlow, and Mackenzie Oyler; great-great-grandchildren, Mason Wagner, Maggie Blockson, Decker Gossett, and one on the way; cousin, Jesse Armstrong; friends, Paul "Doc" Brassfield, Dexter (wife Claudia) Potter, and Steve (wife Colleen) Couey; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Golden and Lois Armstrong; son, Jimmy Armstrong; and step daughter, Diana Warren.
Visitation will be held from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home 305 Sigler Street, Frankton, IN 46044. A service to honor Parker's life will be held at 6pm on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the K Of P I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton with full Military Honors provided by the United States Army and the Elwood V.F.W.
