Richard A. "Dick" George, age 95 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Hamilton, OH on April 4, 1926. The son of the late Emery and Marie (Hilbert) George.
On August 22, 1992, Dick married Beverly (Moore) George and they shared 29 years of marriage together. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946, and he eventually retired as salesperson from Moser Fluid and Power. Dick enjoyed playing golf and was a former member of the Elwood Country Club. He took pride in maintaining his yard and more than anything, he enjoyed spending quality time his friends and family.
Dick is survived by his wife, Beverly George of Elwood, IN; daughter, Laura (Eugene) Keck of Boone NC; son, Mark George of Markle, IN; step-daughters, Karla Fisher of Anderson and Teresa Ann Bulla of Sulfer, LA; step-sons, Richard (Tabbi)Bulla of Frankton and Kevin Bulla of Lake Charles, LA; brothers, Roger (Maxine) George of Anderson and Russell (Joyce) George; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and John George; sisters, Ruth Dickerson, Eleanor Beckett and Evelyn Jerdon-Parks.
Dick's request was to have a private family service and Dunnichay Funeral Home is honored to carry out his wishes for the George family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions honoring Dick can be made to the American Cancer Society.
