Rickie A. Frye, age 60, of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN following a brief illness. He was born in Elwood on December 29, 1960, to the late Charles and Billie (Shaw) Frye.
On July 17, 1993, Rickie married Kim (Beeman) Frye and they shared 28 years of marriage together. He was employed as a tool and die machinist for KMC Machine of Noblesville. Rickie had a passion for racing, and he was Chase Elliott’s biggest fan. He also enjoyed camping and spending quality time with his family.
Rickie is survived by his loving wife, Kim Frye of Elwood; two sons, Rickie (Taylor) Frye of Winchester and Charles "Chuck" (Kylie) Frye of Elwood; a niece that he loved as a daughter, Madge (Jeremy) Frye of Pikeville; eight grandchildren, Cohen Fyre, Emersynn Frye, Kaysonn Frye, Latisha Dawson, Tristan Dawson, PJ Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Steve Johnson; great-grandchildren, Rilee Dawson; two brothers, Tom (Toni) Frye of Tipton and Tracy Frye of Anderson; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Rickie was preceded in death by six brothers, Butch, Mike, Billy, Dan, John and Terry Frye.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home Elwood Chapel. Funeral service celebrating Rickie's life will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Dunnichay Funeral Home with Pastor Dylan Coston officiating. Cremation will follow.
