Sian Pol Mahoney, age 44, of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital.
He was born on February 21, 1975, in Kokomo to Zona G. (Wells) Browning; the oldest of her children.
Sian graduated from Western High School in Kokomo in May of 1993. On March 11, 1997 he married the love of his life, Tyla (Parry) Mahoney. They began a wonderful life together in Elwood with their children.
He was a compassionate and caring person who lived for and loved his family and friends. Sian would have given the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He had a great sense of humor; on the worst of days he could and would make you belly laugh. His laugh was enough to make those around him join along. He was a passionate person who stood steadfast in what he believed, never backing down.
He was known to tinker with various materials to bring his sketches to life; a craftsman of sorts. He was an excellent artist entering and winning contests. Not only gifted at drawing, he had entered and won several poetry contests.
He enjoyed many things in life. Among them vinyl records, watching Marvel movies, comic books, and of course, playing Dungeons and Dragons. Sian was a collector of many things, but above all GI Joe memorabilia, with an impressive assembly of pieces. Sian also loved his dog Buddy very much.
Sian is survived by his loving wife, of 22 years, Tyla Mahoney of Elwood, 2 children, Tia (Cody) Hurd of Elwood, and Donavon Mahoney of Elwood, parents, Zona and John Browning of Kokomo, siblings, David (Lorena) Miller of Texas, Meaghanne (Cameron) Morris of Kokomo, Aunt Dixie Hayes, in-laws, Jerry Parry and Diana Delarosa, and several cousins and nieces and nephews.
Sian was preceded in death by his Grandparents, his aunt, Diana Mountcastle, and cousin Ginger Mulkey.
He will be deeply missed, mourned, celebrated, and loved forever by his friends and family.
Following Sian's wishes of a cremation, no formal services will be held. There will however be a celebration of life to be held at a future date; please wait for the family to announce before asking any questions about his celebration.
Dunnichay Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.
